Mark Wood is aiming for a big payday at the Indian Premier League after confirming that he will put his name into this year’s mega-auction before Friday’s deadline.
Wood, who played for Chennai Super Kings in 2018, has put himself into the top category, with a base price of £200,000, in the hope of securing a lucrative deal which will also help him to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October.
The only England players retained by IPL franchises before the auction are Jos Buttler, of Rajasthan Royals, and Moeen Ali, of Chennai. Everyone else must enter the auction and see if they are picked for the tournament, scheduled to run from April 2 to June 3. It is unclear if Joe
