Rachel Baker, brand lead at a local ad agency and Creative firm Wier / Stewart, will present on the topic at Augusta University at 3 p.m. on March 8. University Hall, Room 170 on the Summerville Campus.
The talk is accessible to all Augusta University faculty, staff, and students. Registration is necessary. Students earn Paw Points by attending the presentation.
This event is the third of three featured presentations by speakers in preparation for innovate 2022 contest on March 31 hosted by the Center for Instructional Innovation, the Office of the President, and the Office of the Provost.

Baker is a multi-disciplinary designer specializing in branding design and calligraphy, lettering, and illustration. She is committed to creating distinct and engaging brand experiences and brands that delight clients and customers and make enthusiastic fans.
She earned her bachelor’s diploma in graphic design at The University of New Mexico.
The INNOVATE competition has been taking place every year at Augusta University for the last three years. Interdisciplinarity (that is, students working in collaboration from various disciplines and colleges is encouraged during the contest. For the last three years, Augusta University has encouraged students to apply their knowledge, creativity, and imagination to tackle the social issues of the day.
The focus of this year’s contest is to address the needs of the community that exists in the CSRA. Critical social issues within the CSRA include the homeless, drug and alcohol abuse, the absence of wage-paying jobs, the high cost of childcare, difficulties recycling, and insufficient transportation.
Leadership in competition recognizes that even the most practical ideas on tackling these issues do not always succeed without a convincing presentation. That’s why the importance of Baker’s presentation.

Rachel is a profound influence on brand development and marketing motivation, and we’re thrilled to have her presence on the campus. Students will learn from our presenters how to communicate their stories to their solution, ” added Lynsey Steinberg, a part of the INNOVATE 2022 team of leaders.
